<image:title>Blog - Meet Morgan Nichols (they/them) - I come to massage with a profound interest in how we can bring more awareness to our bodies. My experience with massage started as a way to take care of my loved ones and it has blossomed into the work I feel most aligned to in my life. What a pleasure and joy to work with others in this potent time. My bodywork journey started as a way to hone a skill. I was witnessing the way so many beloveds near and far, especially engaged in activist work, were hurting. Bodywork has enabled me to learn about my body in a way nothing else has. I have recognized emotional and physical patterns and their connections while receiving work. It has allowed me to hold the vastness of my body. I was drawn to Threshold because I really wanted to be in a safe space that is for and by queer trans people of all sizes. I grew up in Saint Paul, moved out West to Bellingham WA after high school, and now have recently returned! Before studying massage I was drawn to studying math, teaching, and attachment theory. I’m also a farmer and reverent dreamer. I like to cook, go for long walks, read fun fiction, and be with others!</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Meet Ellis Sprecher (M.Ac.C.H.M., L.Ac., M.Ed.)(he/they) - For nearly 15 years, I lived with chronic illness and chronic pain. Navigating disability and trying to find care that respected me as a trans person led me to acupuncture and East Asian medicine. This medicine has helped me to come home to my body and recover in profound ways, and I am honored to support others on their own healing paths.</image:title>
<image:caption>Before attending acupuncture school, I trained in ear acupuncture with the NADA 5-Needle Protocol, supporting people in detox and nervous system regulation. In 2023, I completed my Master’s in Acupuncture at ASAOM in Tucson. I specialize in Japanese Meridian Therapy, a gentle style that uses fewer and thinner needles, and non-insertive tools to bring your body into balance, achieve symptom relief, and clear the way for deep healing. I feel especially drawn to treating pain, digestive issues, and complex chronic health issues like Lyme, Fibromyalgia, CFS, and Long COVID, as well as supporting patients in emotional processing and embodiment. I am excited to hold space for patients at Threshold and to work in an environment where we can all be our authentic selves.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Meet Casper Thorn (he/they) - As a kid I always imagined I’d be a psychologist. I went to college holding this dream and completed a Bachelor’s in psychology. By the end of my time there I was feeling disenchanted; noticing the way capitalism influenced the kinds of research being done and the people who’s healing this research would support. I took some time away, working in kitchens, and remembered how much I love working with my hands. The desire to support people in their healing never left me, but as I learned more about trauma it became clear that holistic healing must include the body.</image:title>
<image:caption>I began to practice Aikido and study Shiatsu, and found my orientation to myself, others and the world shifting in ways that felt right. I knew I wanted to combine bodywork with Somatic Experiencing and when I could afford to I began the training. Along the way I’ve lost and gained connection with many modalities, and I love to hear about others’ paths to finding the techniques and beliefs that really resonate with them. Somatic Experiencing has taught me so much, and deeply changed the way I’m able to show up for myself and my clients.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Meet Tiger Tuchel (they/them)</image:title>
<image:caption>I grew up in Stillwater MN, as part of a multi-generational household and close-knit, blended and extended family full of creative, nurturing people. One thing I love about my family is we have a motto that goes “if there’s room for one more, there’s room for two more. If there’s room for two more, there’s room for three…” We genuinely enjoy each other’s company, and love sharing food with friends old and new (also, literally everyone in my family is an amazing cook). In 2013, I graduated from Prescott College in Prescott, AZ with a degree that I got to design myself. I struggled to narrow my focus, and my exasperated advisor told me that rather than dropping out (which I threatened to do a few times), I should just try to put my studies together under a cohesive title—the best I could manage was a “bachelor of arts in human consciousness through literature, philosophy, and religion, with a minor in alternative education”. Since graduating I’ve bounced many times between the Southwest, the Pacific Northwest, and the Midwest, living in houses and tents and vehicles, traveling by plane, car, greyhound, and thumb.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Avi Marshall (they/them)</image:title>
<image:caption>Avi (they/them) finds interpersonal interaction regenerative, they are fascinated by bodily functions, and they approach community-led healing very earnestly. After working in caretaking and healthcare for the past handful of years, Avi has a keen sense of bodies. Now, as a massage therapist, Avi utilizes those skills along with an intimate anatomical understanding of the body. Avi is trained in relaxation massage, craniosacral therapy, and fire cupping. They started apprenticing with Alyssa in 2023, and are excited to be able to integrate clinical massage and shiatsu since graduating from Northwestern Health Sciences University with an East West Therapeutic massage certificate in 2023. As a queer, intersex person Avi’s dedication to LGBTQ+ health is personal. Working with disabled, trans, and BIPOC clients has given Avi a better understanding of the failings of many healing institutions and ways that Avi can better support all clients. Avi is extremely grateful to those individuals for showing them vulnerability and continuing their learning. Avi believes that all bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made implements of Nature and is grateful for that interconnectedness every day.</image:caption>
