Mushrooms…in the studio?!

Some of you know that I, Alyssa, am a bit of a nut about mushrooms.

I grow them as a hobby: Shiitake, Lions Mane, Reshi, and others when they strike my fancy. I like to walk around in the woods and harvest them in the spring and fall. And I make many attempts to encourage the growth of mycelium when and wherever I can find the time and ability.

Last fall I attended the Midwest Women’s Mycelium Mysteries* conference, in Rosholt, Wisconsin. I got to learn a lot about muschoorm growing and cultivation. I also learned A LOT about daily supplements of mushrooms and the amazing power they possess.

Currently, I take Lions Mane, Stamets 7, and Reshi mushroom powder daily, as well as Mycoshield spray when anyone around me is sick (which is often, living communally AND with kids). I can attest that I nearly NEVER get sick. This winter, despite being exposed to strep twice, I didn’t get it. There are several really great studies of both Reshi and Lions Mane’s anti-cancer and brain support benefits. And, though I am not measuring the benefits in my own body, I do notice better mental health and more physical energy overall when I take my mushroom supplements.

Because I’m obsessed, Threshold now carries Host Defense products. Host Defense products are some of the best in the country. Host Defense is research heavy and make high quality product. They are only available at the studio, so check them out next time you come in for a session. If there is something that Host Defense sells that you would like me to sell, please let me know we will get it!

Host Defense Supplements: Mycosheild Spray: Pepperment; Stress Decompress; Cordyceps; and more!

*I am very aware that gender exclusive conferences can easily fall into problematic issues by not recognizing and/or excluding gender variant and trans folks (this conference does not address their exclusivity well).

**Who wants to start a queer midwest mushroom conference with me?!
